New Darker Moon

As always, a new moon is a time to go inward & reflect, heal, re-build. Check in with your own wisdom, in quiet retreat, So re-treat yourself & clear out the ashes.

In The Quiet

I am a Jyotishi & study the planetary energies based on the East Indian tradition of astrology, thousands of years before the western style was introduced.  Jyotish astrology readings function as a “life-counsellor” to help you navigate your life.

Magha is the 10th placement of the ‘New’ Lunar Mansion, the Nakshatra resting completely in the sign of Leo – the lion’s forehead. Magha means “Mighty One” or “the Great”

The stellar radiance of the stars is described as a sickle-shape group of 6-stars in the night sky’s with one star – Regulus, which is said to be100-times brighter than our Sun.

Keto – is powerful, mysterious & magical. Ketu is the Sanskrit name for the south node of the Moon, called the Dragonʼs Tail (as in flying snake or the Nahuales Kan) .This is a good time to release & loosen anything that is knotted up inside or strangling you – what is known as “unconscious entanglement”

KETU – South Node of the Moon

He ruling planet & reminds of of the truth. Being in Libra – his transit requires a restructuring with relationships, sense of (self-care) support & stability, as well as your own creativity.

Magha rule the realm of the “Fathers of Humanity” We are coming to the time of Shravana or Tarpana, an important time to support & honour our ancestors. Dennis Harness Ph.D. says: “The great Fathers of Humanity act as guardian angels giving protection in the major events of calamities on earth”.

New Moon Energies

A lot of the grief is carried as it relates to our ancestors – so why not face the fears, the pain, the sorrows & add power to your lineage as you deal directly with the karmas. Nothing is ever here to harm you.

We celebrated Thursday @ the Studio & during the Sacred Fire Ceremony prayers of peace, light & healing were made to our innermost lineages. We need to live our lives & not just talk about the “someday, I will”. Instead remember the words “What you can conceive you can achieve”

Soon an invitation will go out so you too can join us. I’ll prepare from In The Quiet ~ A Tiny Part of Something Big to make our offerings @ Hersey, as we did last year. You will be guided at the lake to come together & perform with sincerity, with absolute faith to pay homage. We will offer up our gratitude to our ancestors and request their guidance, in the traditional way with the outmost care to return the spirits & keep protected. This will be about making time to assist in freeing them from any unfulfilled desires so that they can complete their journey to the heavenly abode with peace, satisfaction and happiness.

Arrogance, prejudice & hubris are the downfall or shadow side of Magha. Motivated & attached to attaining wealth, material possessions and often not content. “Win the kingdom but lose the soul” … more unnecessary suffering.

Here’s the deal…ask yourself – honestly these questions: What is your ideal definition of success? Do you need to prove to others anything? Who are you in competition with & why? Do they really care? At what cost do we compromise our high standards, just to please who?

Instead, let’s get down to ignite the spark to be creative – ask “What do I want?” and keep asking 21 times…..you will see it when you get there.  For ultimately, we must remember, WE ARE HERE TO LOVE, over & over & over again. Slow down & concentrate on your own self-care. Love & Light / Always, Kallisto Lynn Pell

Rest is not a Reward ~ It is Essential

Yoga Nidra…… as I’ve learned is a dimension of astral sleep; aka yogic sleep . This ancient practice dates back as far as 700 B.C. Based on what yoga experts have taught me, yoga nidra a complex & much more than a just routine you can pick up via YouTube video.

As a practicing Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist [A.Y.S] who teacher Yoga Nidra (Y.N.) regularly, let me clarify that Y.N. this is not “meditation” per se, but more like a combination of meditation &  Savasana (corpse pose).

Yoga Nidra actually becomes a bridge for the final steps of yoga practice, towards deeper meditation, while attempting to achieve samadhi [a state of meditative absorption].

This guided practice takes you on an astral plane in which you gradually withdraw yourself from the physical body & mental body to a dream-like or astral state. Then the structured practice carefully guides you back to the core. The intent of the practice of yoga nidra is about abiding [remaining in place] in your center. As such, Y.N. can tap into the unconscious and subconscious mind for deeper healing, as many experience in our sessions.

YOGA NIDRA REWIRES YOUR BRAIN CIRCUITRY

While yoga nidra practices can be readily found in app stores & YouTube, it is highly suggested to learn directly from trained yoga practitioner, who has deeply explored the practice, preferably in an established training program. As for myself, I’m a Certified Practitioner with Yoga International & have 100 hours of training, with more than 1,000 hours of clinical practice.

The beginning of contentment is not about doing more. Most people are doing too much in their lives as it is. Here you will be taught to lie down on the floor, in a safe, warm & environment. You will be invited to let go without any digital input from the external world.

It has been said the practice of Yoga Nidra requires a lot of self-inquiry; adequate time for contemplation; to get to know ourselves & with time you will be ready to reunite with your essential selves.

Hence, the benefits of yoga nidra are in the process of it, while allowing you to experience the state of yoga [union]. Maintaining the state of yoga happens while building awareness; getting in touch with the body layers [koshas] & the mind [manas] which are the positive side effects of regular practice.

It is critically important to form a deep intimacy with the self & it takes incredible courage.

For people who want a simple routine to reduces stress & enhance concentration for difficult or mentally taxing tasks, then just yoga Nidra will do. Yoga therapy ending with a 15-30 minute nidra practice may be a better choice for those who want to try this ancient method, incorporated to experience a deeply relaxed state of well-being. You can experiment with deep relaxation in Savasana or yoga nidra, but do it with intention.

Yoga Nidra & Savasana teaches our nervous system what Being Present means. The practice integrates with our nervous system, preparing to allow us to experience deeper states of meditation to arise spontaneously.

Learning to let go of physical tension in our body is actually tough. I can attest to that because it’s taken me years of practice (never perfect) & experientially over time I found the delta point.

But first, we have to deal with the whirlings of the body to feel “just right”, the dominance of the mind to relax & a myriad of undulating emotions in order to practice be still, silent, & become totally present. Finding this space to “do less” & allow us to embody union/yoga, not just “do it” is not that simple…

The mystery of Nidra is in learning how this essential practice from the mat is transformational & rewarding you to wholistically integrate the information into knowledge. And from this inner knowing… into wisdom & that wisdom transmits into greater awareness & healing. Why not allow yourself the time to experience Yoga Nidra? Ask yourself: What obstacles are preventing me from becoming more alive to this moment? I hope you will join us some day!

Ayurveda & Spring

The core concepts of the wisdom traditions of self-healing are found in the ‘Science of Life, known as Ayurveda.

Clearing the Lense of the Mind with Yoga Practices & Ayurvedic principles

Ayurveda science works on the root of the matter with physical daily routines to develop prana, out from our energetic life-force. Prana energy, correctly initiated, can then be collected to support this distribution of (tejas) prana/chi to all our bodily systems; physical, energetic, emotional, mental & the spiritual body.

Ayurvedic Clock

Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga & meditation & works with our doshas to balance our digestion, to understand how we metabolize our lives through agni. Understanding our ability to nourish ourselves (ojas) .

Agni ~ light up!

To learn more about these concepts, please join me for Yoga Chikitsa or yogic therapy. Every week you will learn turn your mind toward balance, harmony & your innate nature (satva).
