Happy Solstice & Adios 2021

‘A Tiny Part of Something Big’

Namasté to everyone & Solstice Blessings!

How are you?

Do you know the benefits of gifting yourself the delight of silence through meditation & Yoga Nidra?

Ancient wisdom teaches us how silence exists at the core of our being. All we have to do is to take the time to be still & connect with that inner wisdom. What does it feel like to live in that place, inside of you?

The state of our present world is spiraling us away & has been shaking much of our inner peace. Many are losing touch with our innermost peace & folks, this is the definition of stress.

The simple action of rest to receive & become receptive is the absolute best gift to give yourself!  Find at least 20 minutes a day to lie down or just sit & close your eyes. Go into silence & focus inward, at the center of your brain.

While the current intensity of our world continues, let not your hearts be steer you away toward more undue stress. Find stillness to renew & refresh yourself.

Reflections cannot happens when we are agitated. The waters must be calm to see our reflection.  Savasana is a place we discover patience & peace amidst all the chaos.  Times are rough & we live in an impatient world. It is said, “we are only impatient if we are future thinking”. Savasana is a radical form of patience & the place where we can embrace deepest forms of healing, as a yogic practice.

Our world is continuing to serve up many more physical & negative challenges, which I have been told (Jyotisha) & they are expected to carry on until April 2022.  So, as the saying goes; “being forewarned is forearmed. Knowing this in advance, we all can be ready to deal with what comes & continue to be present.

Ayurveda suggests this time of year (Vata) is absolutely important to prepare yourself to ease into more quiet time & to armor our immunity from inside out.

Train yourself to live at being present without letting thoughts (Winds of Vata) spin out of control. It is better to manage the inner & outer conflicts, the push & pull’s; of the “I should” mindset with resolving into more quiet.

Ayurveda also encourages us to be sure to nurture your body with warm soups & broths. Bolster your immunity with supporting supplements like; Zinc, vitamin C, Vitamin D, & fresh Ginger tea…& maybe some medicinal mushroom complexes ~ I like Myco10.

Mantra with meditation is the extra power to satisfy a wandering minds. Reciting 108 times  [I Am Courage], Sanskrit: (Aham Veeryam) or [I Am Love] (Aham Prema) are great ‘mind tools’. Used especially when you want to clear our mental clutter, neutralize feelings of disconnection, deflect dark &/or negative influences. The stuff which likely prevent us from seeing, sensing & emitting your natural state, which is being calm, feeling at peace, seeing joy & beauty.

As you rest in Savasana or partake in a Yoga Nidra session @ In the Quiet http://inthequiet.ca/, invite more physical space to arise in you & open yourself deeper to the silence at the core of the spiritual (hrydaya) heart.  Engage in a custom asana practice, tailored so you can express & peel away all the tension. Slip into the Gap with meditation.

The Yoga Sutras say; “we are on earth to evolve & become more present”. This is the solution, but how human of me to forget 🙂

Be spontaneous with our words & action in love so to express who you are at the moment. Let the articulation of your life stimulate our highest ideas – for the good of all in this world.

Don’t let anyone suppress your true nature or drag you in their past, suppressing your inherent true nature. It is your right to choose to live in the sacred space. Turn away from poison, be present & let go of all ambition ~ just notice the breath, just notice the breath.

Life is not trivial! It’s not the way to live…. often we get tangled in trivial things, emotionally attached & perhaps over-analyzing words, so many words (tech, text). The disconnection creates so much misunderstanding & distorted impressions. It reminds me of faulty neurotransmitter: who do they think we are?

In Sanskrit, Moksha is used as a definition of freedom. It is this freedom that we need to bring support to the ahamkara (self). Yesterday’s thoughts are gone & Moksha or freedom should prevail, as you let that shit go!

Essentially, if we don’t let go we are all in a sort of jail, or a dungeon, except the doors are actually unlocked. Break free from the traps & why not change your perspective to completely free yourself?

Savasana frees you. Rest like a corpse – the death (savasana) component, is to become “almost dead” to the outside, as you are held in deep silent space. This is how to become radically present with yourself, away from the external, which we call the present.

Reset your pendulum ~ unplug daily for a specified amount time, in Yoga Nidra or Savasana to refresh, especially at this time of year.  The effects are profound. Start with legs up the wall, or drape your legs over the couch. Just be really comfy & use as many props as you need to work for you so you can be relaxed & benefit from the effects. Like baking a cake, it takes time…don’t rush it & or it won’t be ready…let yourself be still.

Remember…you are human. Practice self-compassionate & let the miracle of life & healing pulsating in your veins.

See you all in the ‘practice’ http://inthequiet.ca/

I look forward to meeting you in 2022!  Lynn C. Pell, Ayurveda Yoga Specialist, Cl. Herbalist, Vedantic Practitioner.

Have a Christmas filled with Fortitude, Love & Light. Aum

Eclipses ~ The Cosmos

Checking in this month with the Planetary or Macrocosmic influences ~ especially this coming week, we will experience a lunar eclipse on 18th/19th November at  1:02 am E.S.T.; Click the link.  https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/lunar/2021-november-19

Two weeks later, a solar eclipse will present (they come in pairs); on the 4th Dec 2021. However, we will not be privy to view it given our position on the planet.

Our full moon in Taurus will enlighten the sky within the lunar mansion or ‘Nakshatra’ called Krittika & the moon aka Chandra’s full brilliance will shine November 19th @ 3:58am EST.

Then… we have another anticipated Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) formation known as a Kala Sarpa, which I have posted info prior.  It may add to the already strong energies based on the astrologically predicted forces we have already been dealing with these past 18+ months.  The 2-week eclipse window will arouse a ‘spin’ from the prankish characters known as Ketu & Rahi – nodes of the Moon.

It is considered – somewhat related that eclipses have the potential for creating disruptive energies, which can eventually lead us to re-evaluate the situation & ground us with positive change. The question offered here is: “what can we draw from life’s lessons?”

So in the astronomical sense, for this period, it is advised to lay-low & preserve your energy on these days. As you do or possibly can, stay below the radar, observe & witness what feelings, passions or emotions & if any unexpected (local &/or global) events roll out.

These times have been arduous, demanding & downright difficult for many who are navigating this global ‘pandemic’.

These lunar nodes (Rahu & Ketu) can play games with us in a shadowy way – creating a kind of disillusionment while trying to prevent us from enjoying the play or ‘Lila(Sanskrit) of life. It is suggested that we relax & lifting the veil to clear vision or clean our windows from the smoke, as it is important to truly see reality.

So you can investigate your shadow side(s), the parts of your life you hide & then make time to dance between the shadows (karma) towards guiding more light on your soul’s purpose (dharma).

Nodes of the Moon in Jyotisha astrology

Take these hints, clues or instincts with pinch of salt; of course I’m only a guide…. See how you feel but be ready for it to rain or pour.

I know I will be preparing some downtime while the shadowy celestial influences continue to censure the coming season.

Home at the Heart

Meditation eases tension

Creating a sense of ‘Home’ – this is the theme for our Full Moon.  Our own bodies, like a home, are where our inner desire for nourishment and truth is found. During this period take time to pause and feel if you are nourished. Feeling at ease can be a simple exercise & something that can only arise when we sit quietly – in silence.

One practice, to connect with how you are truly feeling is to close our eyes & ask yourself. “What am I feeling right now? Can I be at ease with it?”  Sit there & try it. Breathe & wait for the answer, without resisting & allow yourself to invite inner stillness. Return ‘home’ to yourself, again & again is what we all we need to exercise. So, why not dive into the heart of the matter & take in some divine lunar (feminine) energy to *Love Yourself *unconditionally.

At home, where the heart is.
Home is where we begin…inner awareness.

Some of the world’s heaviness of the gloom & doom seem to be influencing those who may be weaker with undue pressure. This is an inward calling to our embrace our Sanctuary – our bodies are living temples, actual shrines & a safe haven to explore without judgement and with much compassion.

It is temporary indeed.

Sure there is always work to be done, we also need to take time to snuggle up cozy up to this life. Enjoying simple pleasures like reading a good book, taking a warm bath, listening to soothing music, or drinking a warm glass of milk is available.

You can even nurture your being with a good hug, as this reduces stress, in many ways. Why not stretch out our arms & hug someone near you or your pet?  One yoga exercise I enjoy is to open wide your both arms, and lift the heart, then embrace by giving myself a hug. Try it for 20 seconds & see how you feel for you? This also nurtures the Hridaya or Spiritual Heart in the anahata – heart region.  We often yearn to help or heal…so if you need support just reach out & ask, be open also to receive support.

Let not your heart’s be troubled”, Jesus taught (John 14). This I understand as teaching us today that we are not to be troubled by anxiety, worry & fear when there is peace (Shanti) for all who seek it, because this too will pass.

Let this bright moon illuminate the spark of life in you, like the love a mother knows all so well. Namaste.
